Heute mal in Englisch! :-)
And here is my "How to stamp onto Rocks"-Tutorial.
You will need:
- smooth rocks of your choice,
- Basic Black, Basic Gray or Stazon ink,
- tissue paper,
- a soft brush and
- paperpatch glue (e.g. "Decopatch")
I have tried Craft Wisper White here but was not so convinced by the result. Since my idea is brandnew, I am still in the experimental phases and shall try the white Stazon ink next. But knowing how eager you are to find out how this is done I will post this example anyway. Here we go:
1.) Well, you actually do not stamp right onto the rock, but onto a paper tissue first. ;-)
2.) Tear or cut out the stamped image. Tearing is more difficult but helps the image to blend in better onto the rough surface of the stone.
4.) Next, place this thin paperpatch onto the rock and spread the paperpatch glue in an eaven coating over the surface. Work quickly and from the middle of the image to smoothen out any wrinkles or bubbles. Work carefully as the wet tissue becomes rather delicate. Make sure the tissue is nicely dabbed through with the glue as this increases the later invisibility of the transferred clipping.
5.) Carry on to varnish entire rock as this helps to create a unified look.
As I said, I am still at the experimenting stages. I was not too happy with this particular result but used it for the tutorial anyway. I got best results with Stampin' Up!'s Basic Black - almost immaculate I' d say. Of course the colour and surface of your chosen rock also influence the result. Some more ideas:
But isn't this a perfect result? Refer to the rock's shape to find matching stamps. See how beautiful this stamp from the "Autumn Days" set looks on this longish rock? And no rims of any tissue in sight- YESSSS!!
I have furthermore experimented with other inks, but they ran badly when applying the glue. A bit water resisted when dry definitely helps...
Now it is your turn. Go out and find some rocks - you will see: This is soooo much fun!! Thank you for coming all the way to Germany into my "Stamping Kitchen" (Die Stempelküche)!!
